Dear Miriam,

I was shown your essay today, and I am in tears as I write this. Thank you. I feel so lucky to be part of the Hadestown film and to have had the opportunities you speak of in Cedar City and elsewhere. One of the things I loved most about the Utah Festival was the tradition of families coming there and feeling that I might be part of that tradition for people in some small way. The fact that you took the time to write this means everything to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I came very close to not being able to make the film. The image of your mother and father sitting next to you in the theater is something I will always carry with me . Patrick Page

I too have very fond memories of attending the Utah Shakespeare Festival for many years and being captivated by Patrick Page's performances. Incredible actor and human. His one-man show in SLC (late 80's?) was so impactful to me. Saw him as Cyrano, Macbeth, and so many other roles during that time. I wept all through Hadestown in a movie theater last Sunday and felt so grateful to see that incredible film. I'm grateful you were able to be "with" your parents as you watched it. Your essay moved me right to tears. Thank you for sharing. Love you Patrick Page!
